What is the PBG building approval permit in Bali?

The Perizinan Bangunan Gedung (PBG), also referred to as the Building approval certificate in Bali, must be obtained before starting any construction work, initiating renovations, or maintenance of buildings. It is intended to demonstrate that a construction project is up to local safety standards.

Once the permit has been issued, it has a lifetime validity as long as the established building retains its structural, design, and electrical structures that were recorded when the PBG was issued.

📄 Why do you need a PBG permit?

  • It ensures that your construction projects are carried out according to legal safety guidelines
  • Provides a record of the building plans (technical details, zoning regulations, structural and environmental assessments)
  • It certifies the safety, health, comfort, and convenience of the building occupants by outlining project-specific standards.
