Short-stay visas for Bali
For visits from a few days to six months — and two purpose-built visas for the work that doesn’t fit on a tourist permit.
Visa on Arrival (B1)
IDR 500,000 for citizens of 97 countries. Apply online as an eVoA and skip the airport queue, or take it at the counter on arrival.

Single-entry, applied for before travel. The route when the VoA isn’t enough or your passport isn’t on the eligible list.

Unlimited entries over the visa’s lifetime, with 60 days per visit. D1 for tourism, D2 for business. Not a way to live in Bali.

Work KITAS (E23)
The company-sponsored permit for a job in Bali. Six months to two years, renewable. No Indonesian entity? Our EOR can be your employer and sponsor the KITAS.

Three steps to your Bali visa
Most Indonesian visas need an Indonesian sponsor or guarantor. Where you don’t have one local, that role sits with us. We file the application, handle the paperwork on the Indonesian side, and stay on the renewals.
Match the visa and sponsor
- We confirm which visa fits — your purpose, stay length, and the income or business behind you.
- Where a sponsor or inviting party is required, we provide it. Work KITAS sponsorship runs through our EOR; other routes we sponsor directly.
Prepare and submit
- We assemble the application, supporting documents, and any letters of intent or invitation the visa needs.
- The filing goes through the official immigration portal. You sign where required; we handle everything else.
Arrival, KITAS, and renewals
- For KITAS routes, we complete the on-arrival biometric step and have the e-KITAS issued. Family permits filed alongside.
- We track expiry dates and run the renewals before they lapse, including the move to a KITAP once you qualify.

What visa do I need for Bali?
Depends on your passport, length of stay, and what you’ll be doing. A holiday up to 30 days runs on the Visa on Arrival for most nationalities. Longer visits use the C1 visit visa, frequent trips a multiple entry visa, and living or working in Bali takes a KITAS. The visa finder at the top of this page matches your situation to the visa.
How long can I stay in Bali as a tourist?
Up to 60 days on a Visa on Arrival with its one extension, and up to 180 days on a C1 visit visa extended twice. Beyond 180 days the honest answer is a long-term permit, not chained tourist visas — cycling in and out to stay near permanently invites a compliance review.
Can I work on a tourist visa?
No, and the definition of work is wide. Paid jobs, sponsored content, brand collaborations, barter stays where a villa gives you a free night for posts, DJ sets, yoga teaching — all count as work. Bali’s Dharma Dewata enforcement unit now monitors social media and patrols venues for exactly this. The right visa depends on what you’re actually doing.
Which visa lets me live in Bali long-term?
A KITAS. The route depends on your situation: Work KITAS for employment, Investor KITAS for your own PT PMA, the E33G for remote work, the E33F or E33E for retirement, or the Golden Visa for larger investments. Each is renewable, and several lead to a KITAP for permanent stay after the qualifying period.
Can my family join me?
Yes. Holders of the main KITAS permits — Work, Investor, Remote Worker, Retirement — can sponsor a spouse and children for dependent permits, valid for the same period as the principal one.
Do I need a sponsor for an Indonesian visa?
For most visas beyond the Visa on Arrival, yes — an Indonesian guarantor stands behind the application. Where you don’t have one local, we take that role. It’s how most of our clients apply.
