Main Types of Residence Permits for Retirees in Bali

As a retiree wishing to spend your retirement in Bali, you can apply for an E33G residence permit (valid for 1 year) or an E33E residence permit (valid for 5 years). Both of these permits are extendable.

With these residence permits, you can enter and exit Bali as many times as you want during the validity period. Moreover, you can bring your eligible family members to Bali.

However, being employed in Indonesia is not allowed with both permits.

Documents Required for a Retirement KITAS in Bali

Requirements for E33G Stay permit for 1 year (extendable)

  • Passport with at least 6 months validity
  • Personal bank statement with a minimum amount USD $2000 or equivalent the last 3 months period
  • Bank account that proves income in the form of salary or income worth at least US$60,000 per year
  • Employment contract with an overseas company or employer.
  • E33G visa does not have an age requirement!

E33E Retirement Visa for 5 years (extendable)

  • Passport with at least 6 months validity
  • A deposit of at least $50,000 to a state-owned bank
  • Proof of income of $3,000/month
