BOI-promoted companies in Thailand have received approval from the Thai Board of Investments. A BOI-promoted company is considered as beneficial to the Thai market, which results in several advantages and incentives offered by the Thai government to retain foreign investments.

A BOI company comes with several benefits, but it is important to carefully follow the registration process, which can be quite lengthy, and submit all the required documentation. This ranges from proposals to feasibility studies, depending on the business activities.

BOI application process

  1. Conduct a feasibility study for your project and prepare a report
  2. Fill out the BOI application form and submit project-specific documentation (which mainly includes, but is not limited to):
    • Company registration certificate and any additional certifications
    • List of shareholders
    • Investment certificate or bank wire receipts
    • human resource requirements and Thai / foreign employee distribution and salaries
    • feasibility study report and revenue estimations
    • business and training plans
  3. Project analysis process (determined by investment capital):
    • ≤ 200 million baht – 40 working days
    • ≥ 200 million baht – 60 working days
    • ≥ 2,000million baht – 90 working days
  4. Upon project approval, submit BOI certificate application
  5. Once the certificate is obtained, register the company as BOI-promoted
