Bali 1 Year Remote Worker Visa

The Indonesian government has assigned the visa type E33G as the “remote worker visa”. This visa allows you to stay in Bali for one year and work for an overseas employer. However, you are not allowed to work for a company in Indonesia.

With a remote worker visa, you are also allowed to bring your family with you.

Permitted Activities with an E33G Remote Worker Visa

  • Work for a foreign-based company.
  • Travel freely into and out of Indonesia, with unrestricted re-entry.
  • Live in Indonesia with eligible family members.
  • Participate in activities related to tourism, such as visiting friends or relatives.
  • Make investments in areas unrelated to employment, in compliance with visa regulations.

Prohibited Activities

  • Employment with or receiving payment from any Indonesian entities.
  • Engaging in sales or service provision within Indonesia.
  • Working for or earning income from individuals or entities in Indonesia not associated with foreign assignments.

Documents Required for a Bali Remote Worker Visa

  • Passport: Must be valid for at least 6 months.
  • Proof of Financial Stability: A bank statement of at least USD 2,000 (or equivalent) shown over the past 3 months.
  • Recent Passport-Sized Photo: Current and in color.
  • Employment Agreement: From a company outside Indonesia, confirming the applicant’s remote working arrangement.
