Study (DH) Visa in Vietnam
The Vietnamese study visa allows you to stay in the country for up to 1 year. You must be accepted by a Vietnamese educational institution before applying.
What can you do with a DH Visa in Vietnam?
✅ Allowed with DH Visa:
- Long-term study programs/degrees
- Internships or training programs
- Temporary residence registration
- Multiple-entries
- Extensions are allowed if the study program is longer than the initial visa duration
❌ Not Allowed with DH Visa:
- Employment or working for compensation
- Business activities (management, signing contracts, negotiation talks)
- Changing educational institutions
How to get a study visa in Vietnam?
Upon being accepted into a Vietnamese study program by a recognized educational institution (university, college, or other government-approved establishments), you are eligible to apply for a DH visa.
The following documents are necessary for securing the DH Visa:
- A passport valid for at least 6 months
- Acceptance letter/document from an educational institution recognized by the Vietnamese government
- Health insurance covering the duration of stay may be required
- Proof of financial means to support their stay may be required
