Spouse (TT) Visa in Vietnam
The 1-year Thân nhân (TT) Visa is issued to spouses or family members (parents and children under the age of 18) of Vietnamese citizens or holders of the following visas:
What can you do with a Spouse Visa in Vietnam?
✅ Allowed with Spouse Visa:
- Short-term residence
- Extensions are allowed as long as the primary visa holder’s stay is valid
- Multiple entries
❌ Not Allowed with Spouse Visa:
- Employment or working for compensation
- Studying in long-term study programs
- Business activities (meetings, negotiations)
- Conversion to different visa types is generally not possible without leaving Vietnam
How do you get a TT visa in Vietnam?
The required documents for applying for the Spouse Visa are related to your relationship with the primary visa holder, and details on your stay in Vietnam.
- Passport valid for at least 6 months
- Copy of passport, visa, or residence permit of the sponsor
- Proof of relationship with sponsor (marriage certificate, birth certificates)
