Electronic visa in Vietnam
The Electronic (EV) Visa allows you to stay in Vietnam for up to 90 days. The Visa can be obtained online via the Vietnamese immigration portal for foreign nationals from eligible countries.
What can you do with a Vietnamese Electronic Visa?
✅ Allowed with EV Visa:
- Tourism and leisure activities
- Business activities (meetings, conferences)
- Visiting family in Vietnam
- Short-term study or training programs
- Volunteering or short-term non-commercial work
❌ Not Allowed with EV Visa:
- Permanent Employment or working for compensation
- Long-term study programs/degrees
- Long-term Residency
- Business operations requiring different permits (setting up or managing a company)
How to get an Electronic Visa in Vietnam?
EV Visa’s can be applied for via the Vietnam immigration portal either by an applicant or by an agency or organization in Vietnam by submitting the following:
- A passport valid for at least six months.
- A passport photo
- Proof of accommodation
- An outbound ticket from Vietnam
- Electronic signature
The EV Visa will be sent to you by email upon approval and can be printed out and presented upon arrival.
