Smart Executive visa “E” in Thailand
The Smart Executive Visa is intended for senior executives of tech-based companies that conduct business in one of the BOI’s targeted industries and have obtained a work contract/endorsement from a recognized Thai company.
Eligibility criteria
🗂️ Who is considered a high-level executive:
- Holding a senior management position (chairman, CEO, CFO, managing director)
- Holding a Bachelor’s degree or above and a minimum of 10 years of experience working in a relevant field
✅ Visa requirements:
- Minimum income of THB 200,000 / month (Approximately USD 5450.00)
- An existing employment contract with a Thai legal entity with a remaining validity of ≥ 1 year.
- Employers must be operating within BOI’s target industries and certified as being tech-based
What are the benefits of the Smart (E) Visa?
The Thai Smart Talent Visa for highly skilled professionals is aimed at improving targeted industries by attracting qualified individuals from abroad. As such, Talent visa holders receive the following benefits:
- The Visa is renewable for up to 4 years (but not longer than the employment contract)
- Exemption from work permit requirements for working in an Executive position or a BOI-promoted companies
- Yearly reporting to immigration offices (extended from the usual 90-day reporting)
- Exemption from multiple-entry permit requirements
